How does Solid Waste Management handle missing or stolen "Big Blue" containers?

All requests for the replacement of missing or stolen “Big Blue” containers will be serviced by the Solid Waste Management Container Distributor for appropriate action. The Container Distributor will bring out a new “big blue” container for the homeowner but will first search the neighborhood to see if the original container is located somewhere on the street through verification of the serial numbers.  Generally, the City will replace a missing or stolen big blue.  However, if the property owner is a habitual offender, he/she must pay for the replacement of the stolen or missing can. Situations which present extenuating circumstances will be considered by the Solid Waste Manager on a case-by-case basis.
