Citizens may keep up to four dogs over the age of four months and/or four cats over the age of four months. They may keep six cats over the age of four months, if all six cats have been spayed or neutered. (City Codes Sections 6-27 and 6-116) Violations may be reported to the Roanoke Police’s Animal Control and Protection Unit at (540) 853-1690, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
